JAMBO – KARIBU!! You will be warmly met upon arrival at the airport with our traditional, unique & special welcome (bubbly, wet towels and presentation of authentic safari hat and a beautiful authentic canvas pouch filled with safari essentials). Transfer to your hotel in Nairobi. The rest of your time today is spent at leisure.

Day 2: Wed 30th Sep 2020 Nairobi

AMKA! Wake Up! After a hearty breakfast, enjoy a visit to the Kazuri Women’s Beading Project. Kazuri, which means “small and beautiful” in Swahili, began in 1975 as a tiny workshop experimenting in hand crafted ceramic beads.

Today Kazuri has grown tremendously and now has a large workforce of over 340 women skilled in the crafting of ceramic beads, strung into beautifully and artistically jewelry. The flair has taken us to a different dimension of making our own unique range of pottery which reflects the culture and wildlife of Kenya. Each piece, like our beads, is handmade and hand painted in rich colors.

Tonight enjoy dinner with the Manji family.

Day 3: Thu 1st Oct 2020 Nairobi

Today, enjoy an unforgettable experience on your visit to the Daphne Sheldrick Animal Orphanage and Karen Blixen Museum & Giraffe Centre. Lunch is at the Karen Blixen Coffee Garden.

Day 4: Fri 2nd Oct 2020 Nairobi – Mount Kenya National Park

After breakfast, check out of your hotel. Then we will set off to Mount Kenya National Park arriving at our ‘tree lodge’ for lunch. Serena Mountain Lodge is situated in the shadow of Mt Kenya, Kenya’s highest mountain. It is the only ‘tree hotel’ ever to be built on the slopes of Kenya’s legendary Mount Kenya. It offers a matchless game viewing opportunity whilst combining a glorious panorama of mountain vistas with the primordial splendors of an ancient rainforest.

Floating high on the flanks of Kenya’s highest mountain and secreted deep within her largest forest reserve, the lodge offers not only the champagne-clarity of mountain air, the tranquility of the forest and a colorful cavalcade of wildlife but also the chance of scaling the icy peaks of Africa’s second-highest mountain.

You can awake to the trumpeting of elephant, fall asleep to the symphony of the African night or sit in stillness and observe the fascinating interplay of the animals as they arrive to drink, bathe, spar and forage around the water hole.

Down the secret viewing hide by the water’s edge, you will experience the awesome thrill of being only meters away from some of the most massive beasts on earth – the savannah elephants. Enjoy dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 6: Sun 4th Oct 2020 Mount Kenya National Park – Congreves Conservancy

Depart and drive to Congreves Conservancy. Check-in at the lodge and have dinner. Spend the rest of your time at leisure.

Day 7: Mon 5th Oct 2020 Congreves Conservancy – Day trip to Gilgil

Later on, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park to enjoy an afternoon game viewing drive.

Return to Mbweha Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Tue 6th Oct 2020 Congreves Conservancy – Masai Mara Game Reserve

Drive to the Masai Mara National Reserve offering wonderful scenery and plenty of game. It is perhaps the only region left in Kenya where the visitor may see animals in the same super-abundance as existed a century ago. Arrive for lunch at your lodge.

Enjoy afternoon game viewing drive in this vast and expansive reserve teeming with game. Mara game reserve is famous for her big five; the most sought after in the early 20th century, when Kenya was a hunters’ paradise. These include the lion, Cape buffalo, the savanna elephant, black rhino and the elusive leopard. The vast savanna grasslands as far as the eye can see is home to impalas, Masai giraffes, waterbucks, wart hogs, Thompson & grand gazelles, topis, the resident wildebeests among many others.

Enjoy dinner and spend the night at your lodge

Day 9: Wed 7th Oct 2020 Masai Mara Game Reserve

Proceed on an early morning game viewing drive. Be on the look-out for the big five that Maasai Mara is famous for. These include the lion, savannah (African) elephant, the Cape buffalo, the leopard and the black rhino. Return to the camp for lunch and some leisure time. Return back to the camp for a late breakfast and some leisure time. Later in the afternoon, enjoy another game viewing drive before returning back to the camp for dinner and overnight.

OPTIONAL: Balloon safari over the Mara plains followed by a champagne breakfast OR visit a traditional Masai Manyatta (off the beaten track) and experience the culture of this world famous community. The Masai still live as they did for centuries – interact with these nomadic people and experience their way of life as you learn about their customs and traditions.

Day 10: Thu 8th Oct 2020 Masai Mara Game Reserve – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, depart with a picnic lunch for the Serengeti National Park. Enjoy a game viewing drive en route to the lodge to check in late in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Covering an area of 14,763 square kilometres, the world famous Serengeti National Park is Tanzania’s oldest park, and one of the world’s last great wildlife refuges. The Serengeti ecosystem supports the greatest remaining concentration of plains game in Africa, including more than three million large mammals.

Day 11: Fri 9th Oct 2020 Serengeti National Park

AMKA! Wake up and enjoy an early morning game viewing drive on the vast Serengeti plains. Return for late lunch and enjoy the rest of the morning at leisure. Later in the afternoon proceed on an afternoon game viewing drive.

In the early morning and evening light, the Serengeti landscape is stunningly beautiful. The Rolling plains and grasslands, stretching far into the horizons as far as the eye can see is home to the black-maned lion, the savannah elephant, the Cape buffalo, wildebeests, the elusive leopard, cheetah ,the spotted & stripped hyena, the rhino, topi, Burchelle’s zebra, the Masai giraffe among many others. Serengeti National Park is one that can never disappoint. One is spoilt by the variety of bird and wildlife species in this game reserve with game-viewing drives. Enjoy dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 12: Sat 10th Oct 2020 Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Conservation Area

After breakfast, we depart to Ngorongoro. We arrive at our lodge to a warm welcome, check-in then have lunch. This afternoon we relax and from our lodge enjoy the breath-taking spectacular views of the crater below.

Ngorongoro Crater has the largest unbroken caldera in the world. It is described as one of the great natural wonders of the world. Enjoy dinner and overnight at crater lodge.

NOTE: Warm jacket/cardigan is highly recommended.

Day 13: Tue 11th Oct 2020 Ngorongoro Conservation Area – Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast we descend some 610 metres into the crater, which is home to an abundance of wildlife and a photogenic paradise, for a half day game-viewing drive. Enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the allocated picnic sites in the crater.

The Ngorongoro Crater, the largest intact caldera in the world teams with an abundance of wildlife permanently resident on the crater floor. Prides of lions, herds of Cape buffalo, rhino, giraffes, golden & black-backed jackal, zebra, cheetah, leopard and the spotted hyena freely roam on the crater floor plains.

Unmatched for its natural variety & breath-taking beauty, there are few places on earth where such a tremendous diversity of landscapes exist inside a region this size. Apart from its wildlife riches, the crater is also of great archaeological importance, with the remains of some of mankind’s earliest ancestors discovered in the area. It is also a home to hundreds of bird species including ostriches, guinea fowl, pheasants, partridges, flamingos, doves, cranes and more refreshing in the small lakes in the crater floor.

After lunch, you will return to the Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge. Upon returning to the lodge, you may spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure. Enjoy dinner at the lodge and spend the night.

Day 14: Mon 12th Oct 2020 Lake Manyara National Park

After a leisurely breakfast, you will depart for the Lake Manyara Serena Hotel. Check in for lunch and enjoy the rest of the afternoon and evening at leisure.

Day 15: Tue 13th Oct 2020 Lake Manyara National Park

After a leisurely breakfast depart for Mto wa Mbu Village. Return to Lake Manyara Serena Hotel where the rest of the afternoon/evening is spent at leisure.

Day 16: Wed 14th Oct 2020 Lake Manyara National Park – Arusha
