There are also traces of ancient roads and aqueducts as well as several Inca’s waterways coming from nearby rivers that still benefit the town irrigation system. During the Spanish conquest of Peru Ollantaytambo was the stronghold the Inca’s resistance. Its cobblestoned streets are part of the Inca’s city planning in the 1200s.
