Zagreb is a great year-round vibrant city, attracting more and more visitors with its charming mix of medieval history and a trendy lineup of restaurants, bars, shops and music festivals. Spend the rest of the day at leisure discovering more of Zagreb independently. Enjoy the funicular ride from Iliac Street to the Upper Town and take in some of the best views of the city from the romantic Strossmayer Promenade. The promenade runs along the remains of Zagreb’s medieval defense walls and was named after a famous 19th-century Croatian bishop and politician. This is one of Zagreb’s most popular and scenic footpaths, lined by chestnut trees and greenery, while offering expansive views of the city. Often lined with local artists, it is a good spot to buy some souvenirs to take home.

Tentative Timetable – 0800 – 1930

Today, on your walking tour, explore the beauties of Slovenia, firstly by visiting its capital Ljubljana, the political and cultural heart of the Slovenian nation. n Ljubljana the old meets the new; it has managed to retain traces from all periods of its rich history; from the legacy of Roman Emona; through to the Renaissance, Baroque and Art Nouveau periods characterized in the house fronts and ornate doorways of the city center, the romantic bridges adorning the Ljubljanica river, the lopsided rooftops and a park reaching deep into the city center. Here eastern and western cultures met; and the Italian concept of art combined with the sculptural aesthetics of Central European cathedrals.

Lunch in a trendy restaurant in Ljubljana is included.

Then visit Bled Lake, a must-see destination in Slovenia due to its romantic scenery and being the access point for Triglav National Park, which offers numerous outdoor adventure opportunities. Return to Zabreb.

Enjoy Lunch in a trendy, local restaurant.

Within the boundaries of this heavily forested national park, 16 crystalline lakes tumble into each other via a series of waterfalls and cascades. The mineral-rich waters carve through the rock, depositing tufa in continually changing formations. It’s exquisitely scenic – so much so that in 1979. Walkways and hiking trails wind around and across the water and an electric boat links the 12 upper and 4 lower lakes.

At 4:30pm, we’ll board our catamaran for an unforgettable fun-filled 1-hr catamaran tour ride to the idyllic island of Hvar.

Hvar, a Croatian island in the Adriatic Sea, is best known as a summer resort. Highlights of this port town include its 13th-century walls, a hilltop fortress and a main square anchored by the Renaissance-era Hvar Cathedral. The island also features beaches such as Dubovica and inland lavender fields. Boat excursions serve the nearby Pakleni Islands, which have secluded beaches and coves.

Above lies a striking fortress and on either side a seaside promenade winds around pine-fringed coves and pebbly beaches.

The other part of the tour will show you where the main lavender fields of the island are located. Here beautiful lavender fields can be seen, in bloom in late spring/early summer. Day 9: Dubrovnik / Full Day Tour To Montenegro

Tentative Timetable: 0900 – 1930

Enjoy a scenic ride along the Bay of Kotor as you make your way to Perast – a small, peaceful baroque village near to Kotor. Your experience begins with a walking tour exploring this pedestrian-only village. The center of the town is an amazing sight thanks to the huge proportions of the cathedral of St. Nicholas. During your tour, you’ll see numerous monuments, including the Parish Church. From Perast you will board a private motor boat for journey to the islet of Our Lady of the Rocks, a Baroque-style church situated on one of two islets in the Bay of Kotor. The man-made islet and its original church were built in 1452.

Continue your drive to Kotor, where a local guide will walk you around and introduce you to the rich history of the town. You will have a walk through the UNESCO protected Old town Kotor with a local guide. Take some time afterwards to get to know this charming town on your own, then hop on the bus to drive back to Dubrovnik.

Day 10: Dubrovnik

Breakfast included at your hotel.

Tentative timetable: 0900 – 2100

Today you will have a chance to meet a local who will tell you about sugared almonds, which holds a special place among the many Dalmatian sweets. Uncleaned almonds coated in caramelized sugar are a filling sweet snack which is traditionally prepared for Christmas and Easter, as well as for all festive occasions to treat welcome guests.

After this little adventure, it is time to get to know the Pearl of the Adriatic. After arriving to Dubrovnik’s Old Town, step into centuries of history among the cobbled streets of the Old Town on a guided walking tour of the city. Known as the pearl of the Adriatic, this walled city is renowned for its breathtaking beauty and more recently, as a popular filming location for the likes of Game of Thrones, Star Wars and Robin Hood.

My suggestions for free time:

• A great way to scoop out the layout of the city is to take the cable car up to the summit of Mount Srdj, which looks out across the city to Adriatic and back over the mountains of Herzegovina.

• A Bike tour or e-bike tour of the Dubrovnik coastline.

Farewell dinner at an authentic, local restaurant.

Day 11: Departure Dubrovnik
