Response to the current COVID-19 Situation

COVID-19 Resources

If you booked travel online and/or directly with a supplier and you need to cancel and/or re-book due to the current COVID-19 situation, please review this resource to check your airline’s or travel service supplier’s current refund policy.

Plan Now Travel Later

Now that some destinations have opened up their borders to international travellers, we know you are champing at the bit to travel again. However, since things can change at any moment, we recommend that, until Canada removes its global travel advisory, if possible, you plan for travel that is at least one year in advance.

Now is a great time to plan for 2022 or 2023 before demand exceeds availability, and Kaz Custom Travel would love to help you plan that trip, so please contact us to start planning. However, if you really wish to travel sooner rather than later, we will only book your arrangements under certain circumstances.

Please read the following.

For trips booked more than one year in advance

Until ALL Canadian travel restrictions and advisories relating to COVID-19 are removed, if you would like us to quote or book travel services for international destinations less than one year in advance, where possible we recommend the following:

  • only a small or no deposit is required with booking, or
  • deposits are fully refundable until final payment due date, and/or
  • that final payment date is no more than 60 days prior to travel, or
  • a date change or cancellation is permitted after final payment date and up to 48 hours prior to departure date with no additional fee and/or
  • if cancellation is required due to COVID-19 after final payment, a credit for future travel for an undetermined departure date of at least two years from original departure date can be issued, and
  • purchase trip cancellation insurance with CFAR (cancel for any reason), and/or
  • purchase COVID-19 travel insurance, and/or
  • accepts complimentary COVID-19 travel insurance with booking offered by supplier, and

All clients must sign our Client Acknowledgement / Waiver.*

For trips less than one year in advance

Until ALL Canadian travel restrictions and advisories relating to COVID-19 are removed, if you would like us to quote or book travel services for international destinations less than one year in advance, we will only book under the following circumstances:

  • only a small or no deposit is required with booking, or
  • deposits are fully refundable until final payment due date, and/or
  • that final payment date is no more than 60 days prior to travel, or
  • a date change or cancellation is permitted after final payment date and up to 48 hours prior to departure date with no additional fee and/or
  • if cancellation is required due to COVID-19 after final payment, a credit for future travel for an undetermined departure date of at least two years from original departure date can be issued.

In addition, client must either:

  • purchase trip cancellation insurance with CFAR (cancel for any reason), and/or
  • purchase COVID-19 travel insurance, and/or
  • accepts complimentary COVID-19 travel insurance with booking offered by supplier, and
  • signs our Client Acknowledgement / Waiver.*
Travel Advisories, Restrictions & Travel Insurance

Travel advisories and restrictions continually change. We therefore recommend clients check all travel advisories and restrictions for their desired destination(s) before booking travel arrangements, before their deposit becomes non-refundable, before final payment date, and before departure.

We also recommend that trip cancellation travel insurance with CFAR (cancel for any reason) is purchased at the time of their initial booking. Travel insurance does not cover everything, especially known events, therefore your trip may not be covered for COVID-19 without CFAR. You may also need to cancel for another unforeseen personal reason, event or travel advisory, so CFAR is highly recommended.

Important: Since COVID-19 is a known event, if you book travel services before all travel advisories are lifted, EHM travel insurance may not cover COVID-19 related emergencies and treatment, even if departure date is beyond 18 months from booking date. Please check with your travel insurance company prior to booking non-refundable travel services, before final non-refundable payment and again before travelling to your destination to ensure COVID-19 is covered.

COVID-19 Specific Policies

COVID-19 policies are available that may cover your trip for COVID-19 related medical emergencies, however, it is highly recommended that you read the policy wording and ensure you understand exactly what it covers as well as what is not covered before purchasing and/before booking your trip.

*Client Acknowledgement / Waiver

It is always the client’s choice to travel. We will provide the client with links to all known travel advisories/restrictions for their desired destination prior to their booking, but it is the client’s choice to book despite any recommendations we may make to the contrary.

Prior to confirming a booking and processing payments to third party suppliers, we will provide a booking waiver, and clients will be asked to acknowledge that they understand the risks. We will not process any bookings and payments for travel services provided by a third party unless this waiver is acknowledged by all passengers over 18 and on behalf of travellers under the age of 18.

Clients who have paid a professional service fee to Kaz Custom Travel (such as a Research Fee, Booking Fee, or FIT Planning Fee), will also be asked to acknowledge that they understand our professional service fee is non-refundable and non-transferrable, and that if one or more booking related to their trip needs to be cancelled or changed for any reason, Kaz Custom Travel may charge an additional fee to carry out this service for them.
