Is Kaua‘i on Your Travel Bucket List Yet?
The above photo is of Kalepa Mountain Forest Preserve and Wailua River in Kaua‘i. I took this photo on an island-hopping adventure of the Hawaiian Islands for my 50th birthday.
As you can see from the photo, Kaua‘i is one of the most stunning places on earth.
Just beyond the bend around the mountain is the famous Fern Grotto, a tropical cave that is often the romantic backdrop for weddings and vow renewals. At the time, I did not know about Fern Grotto, so it wasn’t on my itinerary, although I don’t think we could have fitted it in with the amount of things we did on our trip.
I took this photo across the road from Opeaka’a Falls pond, another well known and photogenic spot in Kaua‘i. We visited the twin falls as part of a road-trip around the island. We also saw them from the air in a helicopter the first day we arrived. Seriously the whole island is just stunning and mesmerizing.
Brownie points if you can tell me the main statistic about Wailua River.
