Helsinki Cathedral, Helsinki, Finland
Helsinki Cathedral, with its stunning green central dome and four smaller green domes, was designed by Carl Ludvig Engel. Unfortunately, it took 20 years to be constructed, and he died before it was completed in 1852.
If you’ve ever wanted to see Helsinki Cathedral or any of the other neoclassical architecture in Finland’s capital, it is a port stop on several Scandinavia cruises.
A guided shore excursion is the best way to see various important historical sites in Helsinki, but if you prefer to sightsee at your own pace, there are taxis and trains too.
