La Mesa del Junquillo is a plateau that rises 869 metres between two reservoirs (Siberio & Parralillo). The top is surrounded by several man-made caves for rooms and storage. The view of the Tejeda Caldera from the top of the plateau are stunning.
In this article, I highlight two ideal regions in New Zealand where you can go on a variety of immersive excursions that, I believe, will provide you with a good experience and understanding of the landscapes, wilderness and culture that New Zealand is known for, as well as provide an awesome adventure. On North Island, you’ll experience Māori culture as well as volcanic landscapes, and on South Island, you’ll experience rugged wilderness and spectacular fiords.
A UNESCO World Heritage site worthy of an excursion is Mount Etna on the island of Sicily in Italy. The largest active strato volcano in Europe and highest in Italy, on clear days, it is visible from half of Sicily, so even on a visit to the island you’re bound to see its peak at some point.
